Toby's Labyrinth by BenoitAubry Toby's Labyrinth by BenoitAubry
August 9th marked the 5th Annual Lumières Festival [link] in Stanley Park along the Rideau River in Ottawa. Toby created a multi-tier labyrinth formed with over 1,500 paper bags fitted with tea candles. Despite a downpour in the late afternoon, her creation survived for the benefit of throngs of people who manoeuvred through with their own lanterns at hand.

Thanks. I took several shots that night but the real challenge was fighting off the armies of mosquitoes :lmao:

Thanks! If they have it at the same location next year, bring a bucket of DEET! It was just as much a Light festival as it was a mosquito fest.

It didn't rain as much and this one was right beside the Rideau.

At first they were at Strathcona Park, near the Russian Embassy (so they told me) I think that was probably a better place for it.

I wouldn't think so. Its so much smaller than the current venue without the facilities that Edinburgh Park has. Not that I'm very familiar with Strathcona, other than the fountain there...
